The Real Feel: News

Penn's Landing/World Cafe Live/Love Park! - June 20, 2010

Oh Buddy,

Have we got some great shows coming up for you to check out! This coming Sunday, June 27th we'll be playing the Wawa Welcome America Philly Food Fest at Penn's Landing on the newly redesigned Great Plaza stage at 11am. I know it's early, but it's never too early to get in some Feelin' music. There is tons of stuff to do and Live Music all weekend, so stop by to see us, then stay all day.

Then, Wednesday June 30th we're back at Philly's best venue, playing the big stage Downstairs and this time we brought our funky friends Kaligata and High Kick along to start off the party. If you've never been to WCL or haven't seen us play in awhile. This is the one to come to! Show starts at 8 pm and it is ALL AGES. Get you tickets at www.worldcafelive.com.

Finally, the day after we celebrate our countries independence... we'll be playing at Love Park for their "Summer in Love" concert series. It's a noon-time show on July 5th, so take a long lunch or skip work all together and come out (Note: The Real Feel is unwilling to subsidize your income for work lost).

For more on our upcoming shows, follow the links at the bottom of the email. Also, if you haven't checked out our Merchandise store or our new album you can just click-through the links to retailers on the right panel of this email. I hope your summer is going great, and we can't wait to see you at a couple of our upcoming shows! See you soon.

NYC this Friday... Rockin' the Boat for Boate this Saturday! - April 25, 2010

We'll keep this one short and to the point.

Back on the road again... we're heading up to NYC to the National Underground this Friday for a midnight set, then we're back home on Saturday to rock the Boat at Campbell's Boathouse to celebrate Kate Boate's 21st birthday (Eddie's sister). The party is sponsored by bud light for great deals for the Party People all night. It's our first time playing atop the new stage on the stern of the ship built by Eddie's dad (the Boate's are ruling this update!)

If you missed our performance on "Mics and Lights" on UDEL TV, you can check it out on www.stn49.com.

And if you haven't picked up "Feel This..." our debut album, use the store links on the right side of this email to download some tracks or the whole album.

Looking forward to a FEEL GOOD WEEKEND!

Our Album Release is only a few days away! World Cafe Live is hosting the "Feel This..." release party this Thursday February 4th (doors at 6pm, show at 7:30). We're on the big stage downstairs and we're releasing our debut album!

If that isn't enough to get your breeches in a bunch THE FIRST 100 COPIES SOLD WILL BE ADORNED WITH REAL BRAILLE STICKERS ON THE COVER! Happy Holidays! TRF Year Anniversary and New Shows! - December 25, 2009

Happy Holidays,

It's hard to believe we've already been at it for a year this January! We have exceeded all of our own expectations with the gigs we've played and we're excited about our Debut Album that should be out in February or March 2010.  It's going to be hard to beat the enjoyment of this first year, but we're looking forward to what's ahead and we're glad you're along for the ride.

So what's ahead you ask? Well, I'm glad you asked... January 9th we'll be returning to The Note in West Chester with Eddie's friends' group High Kick. It's a late night show, starts at 10 pm... but it's the weekend so who cares. Get your tickets on The Note website or at the door.

For those of you who made it out to the Boathouse this past Wednesday, you got to hear a sample of The Real Feel backing up Mike McCarry. Well, you're getting the whole she-bang on January 23rd again at The Boathouse. Mike has the details, but we think it is $15 for all the keg beer you want, and music all night with drinking games, etc... Gonna be a party.

We are working on a couple of more dates later in the month, but we're focused on finishing our album "Feel This!". Don't forget to download our Live tracks from Joclyn's at
www.therealfeelband.com and buy some TRF Merchandise at www.audiolife.com/store/therealfeel. Again, Happy Holidays and as always we appreciate the support. Tell your friends and suggest our facebook fan page to all your friends too! Growing the fan base each and every day... one person at a time!

New Merch Store! Lots more shows! - October 12, 2009

It has been a busy week as far as booking new shows goes and new website content. Go to the TRF Website to download a few of the tracks from our Live @ Joclyn's CD, and check our show schedule at www.therealfeelband.com for more information on every new show!

This Wednesday we are supporting Moonalice at The Northstar Bar featuring G.E. Smith from The Saturday Night Live Band and Hall and Oates and a star-studded cast of other musicians. You've paid your dues coming and listening to all the bands at the New Music Showcase nights, now you've got the chance to come see us open for some really amazing Nationally Touring bands. Tickets are $12, and we go on early at 7:00 pm. We hope to see you there.

After much anticipation, WE HAVE T-SHIRTS! We even have a tote-bag if you want to be all eco-friendly and do your grocery shopping in style with a TRF Tote. There are a bunch of different colors and designs for both Women and Men, and the best part is that it is so easy to edit and make new designs that if you don't see a color scheme you like... just send us an email (therealfeelband@gmail.com) and we can make you your very own custom TRF T-Shirt or Hoodie! Designs are printed on many different T-Shirt and Hoodie styles including American Apparel (more pricey, but highest quality), Hanes, and other popular brands. Visit our Merch Store for all the current styles and colors!

Just in! - We have just booked our return trip to The Trocadero Theatre as the headliner for Friday, November 27th.  It's the day after Thanksgiving, so almost everyone is around and off of work on Friday, so mark your calendars.  There are plans for another Party Bus, so we'll be letting you know the details for that soon.  For the first time our name will be in bold and all caps on a Ticketmaster Ticket... which is kind of a big deal!

Another great show opportunity came our way this week for Saturday Oct 17th at The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. We are playing in the small club on the balcony after the Melody Gardot and Matt Haimowitz performances. Our performance is free if you purchase tickets for one of the other shows. Melody's show is sold out, so get your tickets fast for Matt's performance.  The best part about this opportunity, is that the Kimmel found us! Which means something that we're doing is working.

Thanks for your continued support, and we hope you like the Live tracks on our website. All of our "Live @ Joclyn's" CD will be available for download on iTunes and for online purchase at the TRF Merch Store soon!

LIVE ALBUM RELEASE w/ PARKWRIGHT - September 20, 2009

I am writing this email sitting on the couch in Kyle's studio recording our debut studio album. Got the cans on my head listening to Joe drop the dopest of grooves on "Pay". "Willy's Town" is laid down, and "Chain" is nearly done. It's turning out to be an amazing start to an album that we're really excited about, but let's focus on the most important things in the the near future for "The Real Feel".

It's here, the release of our Live @ Joclyn's CD. Our friends from Parkwright decided to come out and help us Rock Joclyn's harder than it's been Rocked in years, years I say! We hope to get all of Media out with this show on Thursday Sept 24th starting at 9:00 pm. The show is free, the album is $10 so all you cheap skates who just come to the free Joclyn's shows... it's time to pay the fiddler, then the fiddler will pay us (it's a complicated situation).

Then check out our next show on Oct 2nd at World Cafe Live. This is definitely the best bill of music we've been a part of, check out all the performers here. It's World Cafe Live's 5th Anniversary and it's a full day of music FOR FREE! After 3 years of tearing tickets downstairs at WCL, we've made it to the big-time playing downstairs. This is going to be a special night, and it's Eddie's Birthday! So, come celebrate WCL and Eddie's Birthday.

That's it for now, see you Thursday!

Wow... Thank You! - August 31, 2009

We are still getting over the emotional hangover from Saturday night (and from the look of the people on the Party Bus, you're nursing something too). First of all, thank you so much for coming out on Saturday to see us play the biggest show of our lives. Now, because of your support even bigger things are on the horizon. Immediately after the show we were told that we'll be coming back to The Troc as A HEADLINER! You have no idea how amazing it was to hear all of you yelling and screaming for us, and the post-show reviews were equally astonishing. I'm glad everyone had a great time, because you can bet your breeches we had the time of our lives!

If you took any good pictures of us from Saturday night, send them over to us and we'll post them. The best photo will win a FREE Live @ Joclyn's CD at our release show on September 24th.

On a more important note, my neighbor Ryan McGroarty has been fighting his way back after a traumatic head injury that occured over a week ago. The recent signs are encouraging and everyone's thoughts and prayers are needed and appreciated for his speedy and successful recovery. Can't wait to have you back Ryan!

It's Been Awhile, How've you been? - June 25, 2009

It's been so long since we've talked. I hope you've been well. We've been keeping ourselves busy... a little too busy to sit down and write a boring email that most of you delete anyways right? But this one is different, because we have real stuff to tell you about. Not just begging you to come out to shows (but please keep coming...please...now we're begging). But we've got two albums coming out in the coming months and some big shows on the horizon!

Since we have a show this Friday Night June 26th at The Mill Creek Tavern, we have to start this one off by asking you to come out to Philly this Friday and save the shore for Saturday. The beach isn't going anywhere... come on. It's in University City at 4200 Chester Ave and the show starts at 9pm. We go on first, and then you'll catch Preston Swift and Victor Victor Band.

We just finished up the live recordings from Joclyn's and after careful consideration we chose to use all the material from our show on June 14th from out on the deck. So, if you were there give yourself a pat on the back for giving us some great energy to feed off of. It's a really tight set and we're proud of our Media brothers and sisters (and mothers and fathers) for showing us so much love and support, you are as much a part of this as all of us. Most of all we'd like to thank Jimmy Calvarese for being our sound pro and working real hard to make a great recording. We think you'll really enjoy this one and it should be ready for pre-release sale very soon!

We are working on our Studio 6-Pack Album "Feel This" right now with our friend and producer Kyle Wareham from Three Legged Fox and Natural Sound Studio. You don't have to be of legal drinking age to pick up this six pack either. Good clean fun for the whole family. We've pretty much finished "Chain", "Juliet" and "Take it Twice" and we're getting started on the next three in the coming weeks. Both albums we hope to have out by the end of the summer. We'll give you some updates of the rough cuts soon for you to enjoy.

GREAT UPCOMING SHOWS!
Thursday July 16th @ Joclyn's - Back inside, dirty dancing welcome!
Thursday July 30th @ Kildare's Manayunk - All you Yunkers are on call!
Saturday August 29th @ Album Release Show @ THE TROC! - That's right, The Trocadero Theater! All Ages Show, and THERE WILL BE A PARTY BUS FROM MEDIA (party bus  not all ages 21+).

Man this is fun! - May 3, 2009

Seriously, it hasn't even been four months gigging and we can't believe all the great opportunities we've landed. We had a stellar time playing with our buddies Parkwright at The Tin Angel a week ago, they played a feel good set. Thanks to all of our friends, family, and fans who came from near and far to check both bands out. Our video from GGM Productions should be available for your viewing pleasure in just a short while. We'll keep you posted. We played this past Friday night in Dewey Beach for The High Tide Jam Fest held at The Rusty Rudder. Lots of extremely talented original music groups from all over the Mid-Atlantic Region. We wish we could have stayed the whole weekend... can't wait until next year.

LAST MINUTE SHOW ADDED @ THE KHYBER! Our long lost friend Adam called last week to let us know about a show at The Khyber with his band Curious Buddies. Come on out to a Cool Philly Music Venue to help us support Adam's new band! We go on at 8:00 PM.

Tickets are now available for The Philadelphia Sessions Benefit Show that we're playing at on June 7th at The Yards Brewery on Columbus/Delaware Ave. $25 All Day Pass which includes Free Beer! We're even getting a Party Bus together to make this a whole Sunday Funday event. Get Your Tickets By CLICKING HEREWe're coming back to Everybody's Hometown Bar (at least when it's above 60 degrees) Joclyn's on May 14th. If you didn't make it out last time. You missed out. More auxillary percussion will be provided for the most enthusiastic attendees.

On May 19th we're teaming up with power trio Phantasm for a GGM Productions Music Showcase at Silk City. This performance will be taped as well, so get ready for even more video content on the TRF website.

Last but not least, we've got an ALL AGES show in Phoenixville at Steel City Coffee House with Three Legged Fox. Get your tickets discounted for pre-sale. Small place, cool vibe, good tunes.

If you haven't checked out our BRAND NEW WEBSITE you probably should. We've got some Music Downloads (more to come soon) and check out the article written by Media's own Chris Childress under Press.

The ReaL FeeL

P.S. - All our friends in NYC Area, check the show dates. We're coming up again in June, so pencil us into your Schedule. We play early, so you can still do whatever it is you New Yorkers do until 5:00 am...

You got to admit it's getting better... - April 15, 2009

Hello Friends,

It's been awhile since we've sent out an update and with so many GREAT things happening with "The Real Feel", we're past due for a Monthly Newsletter. First off, we'd like to Thank every one of you who made it out to The Northstar Bar. THAT PLACE WAS PACKED! The Party Bus was a ton of fun, and look for more of those (possibly monthly) for future shows. All of the people dancing and jumping around was amazing! It felt like we're a real Rock Band! Next, our show at World Cafe Live was a huge success. We had a lot of new faces come out to see us there, and plenty of our old friends came along too. We're so thankful to have such great people on our side who enjoy our music. We wouldn't be experiencing any success without any of you! Enough of the mushy stuff, here's the NEWS! Also, if you don't care to read too much, our show schedule is at the end of this email... so as long as you check that out, we are happy!

Tomorrow evening (Sunday, March 29th) we are playing at Bootlegger's in Woodlyn for their Bootapalooza show. It's 4 bands all on the MAIN STAGE. We go on first at 8 pm sharp and then you'll hear Foster Child, Desoto Jones, and Tough Guys Take Over. There's great drink specials and they're grilling burgers and hot dogs. It should be a ton of fun and we'd love to see you all out. I know... it's a Sunday night. But what else are you going to do? We are on at 8 pm, so it's not too late!

Next weekend, Saturday April 4th we are headed back up to visit our friends at Uncle Mike's in Tribeca NYC! We have such a good time with these mini-roadtrips that we've pretty much been going every month or so. LAST TIME THE ROOM WAS PACKED, so get there early to get a good spot to watch. We're going on at 9 pm and it's an all Rock Band night (no sissy singer-songwriters - just kidding I was a sissy singer-songwriter before "The Real Feel"). So all of our NYC people, we look forward to seeing you again!

The following week we are finally playing a show in MEDIA! We've been talking to bartender Tim about playing Joclyn's for awhile and it has finally come to fuition. April 9th is kind of our tryout there, so we need all of our Media-ites to come out to support us and make us look really good. I know all of you love a good excuse to drink so Thursday April 9th we're giving you the perfect excuse. We'll be playing two full sets too, and best of all IT'S FREE, NO COVER!

Then rounding out April we're playing at The Tin Angel in Olde City Philadelphia on Friday, April 24th at 10:30 with our good friends Parkwright! This is going to be a killer show, and we're expecting to sell it out. SO GET YOUR TICKETS SOON BECAUSE IT'S A SMALL ROOM. Tickets are $8 and you can order them online at www.tinangel.com

BIG NEWS! We just got accepted to play The High Tide Jam Fest in Dewey Beach at The Rusty Rudder. We are so stoked to play with 30 other Jam inspired bands all for a FREE TWO-DAY FESTIVAL! Yep, it's free so get a hold of a friend who has a house down in Dewey and get down there on March 1st to see us perform, then spend the whole weekend down there checking out the other bands.

That's it for now, but I think that's plenty for you to bite into. I know that there are a lot of you who haven't yet made it out to a show. WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU WAITING FOR, NONE OF US ARE GETTING YOUNGER. Seriously though, we'll be on our second album by the time you get off your ass and come out to see us. Thanks again to everyone who has been coming out to support us... Eddie, Will, Joe and I could only dream that our first 3 months as a band would be going this well and it really is all thanks to our friends and fans who make it happen for us! Thanks.

- Jared
